Default Would this build be effective?

Quote:
For Ebon Dust Aura to work it says you need to be weilding an earth weapon.

Say you used Dust Cloak would that count or does the weapon itself need to be earth damage.

I was just wondering because its part of the build I'm making:
[Chilling Victory][Test Of Faith][Reap Impurities][Dust Cloak][Ebon Dust Aura][Epidemic][Channeling][Armor Of Sanctity]
^Tested this build out and it isn't that great, I don't do nearly enough damage. So what could I change to the following PvE build I am currently using:

[Avatar of Lyssa][Eremite's Attack][Mystic Sweep][Victorious Sweep][Heart of Fury][Eternal Aura][Aura of Holy Might][Mystic Regeneration]

Yes, Dust Cloak and other damage converters will make it so EDA would work.

Personally I prefer [[Staggering Force] since when Dust Cloak ends it blinds foes, but you're doing that with EDA. Staggering just adds another condition into the mix.

EDA + Staggering Force + Zealous Scythe of Enchanting = win.

Would I need a zealous scythe? The build I was working on (I don't know if it's a build others have used, I've never seen it before) I use channeling for energy management.

Heres the build:

[Chilling Victory][Test Of Faith][Reap Impurities][Dust Cloak][Ebon Dust Aura][Epidemic][Channeling][Armor Of Sanctity]

Oh my, yes you would need a zealous scythe. Five 10e skills will rape your energy pretty fast. I don't think Channeling is going to help you as much as you're hoping either.

BTW what's your intended attribute split? I'm seeing Earth, Wind, Scythe, and Inspiration in your build - and I'm assuming at least something in Mysticism? If you really want to stay with a handful of Wind points, I would highly recommend [Attacker's Insight] as both your attack skills are 10e.

Since you're wanting to use EDA I'll stick with that and make suggestions of my own: I would personally lose Test of Faith and Channeling to knock out two attributes. Epidemic is kind of a waste as well, as your scythe should already be spreading the blind to anything adjacent on the attack. Also, Staggering Force is a better option than Dust Cloak for the reasons stated by Celestial Beaver.

If i ddin't use epidemic the blind might not spread as fast as i need it to.

Also I had Test of Faith in the first place because I wanted a skill to damage everything at once. If I took that out and replaced it with attackers insight It would be painfully slow to kill monsters.

I guess i would need that zealous scythe.

As has already been stated, [Dust Cloak] removes the need for an ebon scythe.

I'd use staggering force since your scythe does the job of spreading blind with your elite. Same with epidemic. Your scythe will blind those adjacent.

Good luck finding an ebon snathe if you decide to drop an enchant for an earth damage scythe though. These things just don't exist for me. If you do happen to find one, Withering Aura is pretty hot combined with blinds. It's pretty much the same effect as Ebon Dust Aura except it weakens your enemies.

5 skills that cost 10 energy will really kill your energy...
channeling only works on spells that you cast, not attacks, so as a melee fighter you wont gain much from it. there are better options in the mysticism line, which is also your primary attribute and you should invest in it anyway...
test of faith is a very questionable skill. Dust Cloak/Staggering Force or something is needed if you dont want to use an Ebon Scythe, that's fine.
Chilling Victory is a great skill, but it is your only damage skill :\
Scythes already hit adjacent foes, so why do you need epidemic?
armor of sanctity is not really needed if you have decent monks in your group...

your build lacks:
more damage skills
IAS
IMS(if for PvP)
good energy management(channeling wont cut it for a melee fighter)

I made a new build. It's kind of energy heavy but I think I could pull it off with a Zealous scythe. What do you guys/gals think?

You need to make pointless posts saying things like "I wrote this amazing essay that will change the literary world, what do you guys think about that?".

Anyway, energy intensive gets helped by zealous. But just stop making your own builds.

I don't feel accomplished if I just go to PVX download one of there builds and go off and beat the game.

I don't like the thought of taking someone elses work and using it with no effort involved.

New build is much, much better. I'd still look for Attacker's Insight but I don't think you should have too much issue with your build in PvE.

I'm curious as to why you chose those attack skills over, say, Mystic Sweep, Eremite's Sweep, and Victorious Sweep. Not to mention Prot Strike or Wild Blow.

I chose [radiant scythe] to go along with [avatar of lyssa], I chose [farmers scythe] for the instant recharge, and I chose [zealous sweep] for the damage and to gain energy to make [radiant scythe] more powerful.

Would using Mystic Sweep, Eremite's Attack, and Victorious Sweep be more effective?

Nothing bad about Mystic Sweep, Eremite's Attack, and Victorious Sweep. Cheap cost, fast recharge, and they go well with an IAS.

I tend to replace Eremite's Attack with Banishing Strike for the damage bonus or Chilling Victory if I'm ok on energy.
